What is sugaring hair removal?

Sugaring is a natural hair removal technique that originates from ancient Egypt. It is made with only three ingredients: sugar, water, and lemon juice. The sugar paste is applied lukewarm, making it a better option for people with sensitive skin in comparison to regular hot wax. 

What are the benefits of sugaring?

Regular sugaring treatments prevent ingrown hairs, slows hair growth, and shrinks follicles for permanent hair reduction over time — the difference is usually noticeable after your first session. 

How often should I sugar?

Every 4-6 weeks, depending on how often you come in. Try not to skip a session; consistent skincare maintenance can give you results, sugaring is not an exception.

What’s the ideal hair length for sugaring?

We recommend hair is the length of a grain of rice, anything too long can be trimmed down by your practitioner. 

Can I still be sugared while on my period?

Yes! It’s a common occurrence and doesn’t cause any issues with the service. 

What should I do BEFORE my sugaring appointment?

Exfoliate 2 days prior to appointment.

Are there disadvantages of sugaring?

Some people do not like to wait for their hair growth to be long enough, and just like waxing, its not painless. But rumors say it’s less painful! We promise, it is well worth the wait.

What kind of facial should I get?

If you’re unsure of what facial you need don’t worry, your Etsi will give your skin a consultation and help you decide.

After my facial, what should I avoid?

For 24hrs, avoid direct sunlight, touching your face, and change pillow case. No exfoliating 5-7 days depending on skin sensitivity.; we also recommend wearing a high SPF on your face. 

What is dermaplaning and why should I add it on to my facial?

Dermaplaning is a procedure that removes 3 weeks of dead skin cells and vellus hairs “peach fuzz”, resulting in a deeper exfoliation. It helps with makeup application, uneven skin texture, and improves product retention with your facial

What should I do before my Brow Lamination?

Avoid exfoliation or use of any Vitamin A (retinol etc.) for 3 - 6 days before your appointment. 

What should I do after my Brow Lamination/Lash Lift?

No water or steam on brows or lashes for 24 hrs. 

I haven’t been called back yet and I called 4 hours ago. Why is that?

We’re a small business without a full time receptionist. Please allow 24-48 hrs for call-backs — leave a text for faster assistance!

What should I do AFTER sugaring?

For 24 hours avoid swimming, exfoliating, excessive sweating or friction (yes, this includes sex) or touching the area.
